Don’t wait until the last minute to update your resume, LinkedIn, or keep track of what you are doing and learning at work. Port Triton has an excellent section that can help you keep track of all of this and more. Log into Port Triton, go to “My Profile,” and scroll down. There you will see “Add Experience,” “Add Projects,” and “Add Skills and Competencies.” Having a list will help you update your resume or LinkedIn and can help you remember specific projects or accomplishments in interviews. You should update this list once a month while events are still fresh in your mind. By updating regularly, you won’t need to scramble to update while you are recently unemployed or desperately looking for a job. In addition, remember to update your resume and LinkedIn every few months, especially after completing a significant project or experiencing a change in employment.
